OUR MISSION
➤ To do all in our power to protect and advance the interests of the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog (“Swissys”)
➤ To encourage and promote quality breeding of purebred Swissys and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection
➤ To encourage sportsmanlike competition at dog events
➤ To conduct sanctioned matches and specialty events under the Rules and Regulations of the American Kennel Club
➤ To provide local Swissy owners with the knowledge and resources necessary to become responsible and informed owners, in order to promote the health and well-being of their dogs and the breed as a whole

The Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, affectionately known as the Swissy, is a large, powerful breed of dog that originated in the Swiss Alps. They are known for their strength, intelligence, and loyalty. They are a working breed, and are often used as guard dogs, herding dogs, and draft dogs. They are also known for their calm and gentle nature, and make excellent family pets. They are a loyal and devoted breed, and are very protective of their family.

We strongly encourage all Swissy owners to join GSMDCA, which offers a variety of benefits, including the tri-annual publication “The SENNtinel” and a frequently published e-newsletter. Sponsorship into GSMDCA can be given by your breeder or members of C&P.
